Overview
Slowpoke is a dual-type Water/Psychic Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It is known for its relaxed behavior, slow reactions, and calm personality. Slowpoke can evolve into Slowbro or Slowking depending on the evolution method.
Slowpoke often appears near water, where it spends time fishing with its tail. Despite looking absent-minded, it has unusual psychic potential and a peaceful nature.
Biology
Slowpoke is a pink, four-legged Pokémon with a rounded body, short ears, a long tail, and a blank expression. Its tail is sensitive and can attract Shellder, which plays an important role in some of Slowpoke's evolutions. Slowpoke is famous for taking a long time to notice pain, danger, or changes around it.
Abilities
- Oblivious — Prevents Slowpoke from becoming infatuated or affected by certain mental distractions.
- Own Tempo — Prevents Slowpoke from becoming confused.
- Regenerator — Restores some HP when Slowpoke switches out of battle.
Evolution
Slowpoke has two main evolution paths:
- Slowpoke → Slowbro
- Slowpoke → Slowking
Battle style
Slowpoke is usually described as a bulky and defensive Pokémon. It is not fast, but it can take hits well, use Water- and Psychic-type moves, and support a team through recovery or utility-based strategies.
